While we’re still recovering from the Thanksgiving feast and frenzied holiday shopping on Black Friday, Christmas will be upon us in the blink of an eye. Then fast on its heels will be New Year’s Eve, and before we know it, it’ll be 2020!
You may have plans for New Year’s Eve by now, but sometimes the problem with this festive year-ending holiday is that parties usually don’t get started until later in the evening, often 8 or 9 p.m., or even later, so people can make it to the midnight countdown.
So how do you pass the time until the party rolls around later in the evening? You’re done with shopping (thank goodness!), you’re not a big college football fan (only four games on that day, all smaller bowl games), you could go for a walk, but that won’t eat up much time.
What’s Something Fun, Challenging, and Exciting You Can Do With Friends?
How would you like to do something fun, exciting, and will challenge your mind but not tax your body (gotta save up that energy for later!) and takes about an hour? Well, gather some friends and/or family and book an escape room. Not only will you do something fun and exciting, but you’ll have some great stories to tell later that evening.
Monterey has two escape rooms to choose from — Escape Room 831 on Lighthouse Avenue in New Monterey and Exodus Escape Room on Cannery Row — founded by entrepreneurs Christina and Barrie Riddoch of Monterey.
We have some awesome escape games at both locations, including Alice’s Dream based on Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland”; Spellbound centered around a cottage and a curse; Sherlock’s Study with a Sherlock Holmes’ mystery; Masquerade – Jewel Heist, featuring a stolen diamond and a masquerade ball; and just opened – RabaBank and Time Machine.
Exodus Escape Room is at 765 Wave St., Suite A2, has three rooms. Call 831-324-0513 or go to https://exodusescaperoom.com/monterey.
Book your escape room now and start off the new year with some awesome memories. You will have so much fun that one of your New Year’s Resolutions might even be to go to escape rooms more often!
